As we prepare to wrap up another year, I wanted to share with you my favourite shots from 2012. These are 10 of the most fun, interesting, meaningful or beautiful experiences/moments I encountered this year. In no particular order (as choosing 10 was hard enough!)…
This one was fun, but to most probably not. I got up at 4:30AM, jumped on my bike and headed for Greenpoint in Brooklyn. It was a little eerie riding alone at that hour of the morning in the cold, dark and misty rain. At one point I questioned what I was possibly thinking, but kept going anyway. It was totally worth the early rise and the freezing cold. I loved the images I got. The water, mist, pre-dawn light, everything was perfect. Putting this one in the beautiful category too.
I had in my mind a series of shots I wanted to do in Melbourne. I don’t often take street style pictures, mainly because I don’t think they are my strong point. Having an idea of what I wanted before I headed out helped a lot and I hope to take more images like this one over the coming months.
3. What’s Left Behind
Sometimes simple is best and in this case I think most beautiful and interesting too. I love the patterns on the sand and the tones in this one.
4. New York Public Library
What a stunning building! Nothing more to say.
5. Foggy Sunrise Yarra River
Ah Melbourne, such a beautiful city. Returning to Melbourne after spending time living in the USA I feel like I’ve been able to look at the city with new eyes. I’m loving re-discovering Melbourne through my lens. Big heart for this one!
6. Untitled
I love the contrasts, design and light in this image.
7. New York City Skyline
This one was definitely fun. My brother came to visit and we were being total tourists for the day. Heading to NJ to check out the skyline is one on the list!
8. The Cleansing Ritual
Japan is one of the countries I love the most (after Australia of course) ;) There is so much beauty everywhere. One of my favourite places is Kyoto and visiting the many temples dotted around the city.
9. Union Lane
Another Melbourne one, what can I say! This laneway is one of the most photographed places in the city. I wanted to capture it differently to all the other thousands of shots out there of it. I think I did alright ;)

10. The Kiss
This was another early one, but not as early as While You Were Sleeping. I headed to Central Park before work one morning and came across this beautiful reflection. Definitely rewarded for climbing out of bed before the alarm with this one.

¡Muy buena elección!
Love this post and love the awesome pictures:)
Thank you! :)
