As we prepare to wrap up another year, I wanted to share with you my favourite shots from 2012. These are 10 of the most fun, interesting, meaningful or beautiful experiences/moments I encountered this year. In no particular order (as choosing 10 was hard enough!)…
This one was fun, but to most probably not. I got up at 4:30AM, jumped on my bike and headed for Greenpoint in Brooklyn. It was a little eerie riding alone at that hour of the morning in the cold, dark and misty rain. At one point I questioned what I was possibly thinking, but kept going anyway. It was totally worth the early rise and the freezing cold. I loved the images I got. The water, mist, pre-dawn light, everything was perfect. Putting this one in the beautiful category too.

The city is buzzing with all the craziness that comes with Christmas. Decorations and lights are in abundance. My favourite display this year is the Town Hall which is lit up each night from about 9PM and it’s a spectacular show. If you haven’t had a chance to get down there yet you still have a couple of days left.

My posts have been quiet of late, mainly because I gave my website a facelift and finished a new body of work. Today’s post is a snap from my new series, I Know You Don’t Watch Me Walk Away, which can be found here.
Hopefully my Little Expeditions will be more frequent as we round up the year. Summer feels like it is finally here and Christmas lights are starting to appear. Stay tuned…

Looking for a year of art for your wall, or a beautiful gift for someone? This wall calendar is jumbo size at 11.7″ x 16.5″, printed on satin art paper (200gsm) and has a tough wire binding.
Beneath the Surface is a series of pictures I shot in New York. I wanted to show a side of New York City that is not often seen or exposed. To me, the city hides behind a veil, just like the people that call it home. These images depict the emotions swirling beneath the surface.
Scroll down for a front row seat of the calendar. If you like what you see, simply click here to purchase.

This past weekend I made a trip home. As we say in Australia, I grew up in the bush (that’s countryside for all of you non-Aussies)! It’s great to get out of the city and head home where there are wide open spaces and lush green nature as far as the eye can see. I loved growing up in the bush. There was always a new adventure around the next corner, a tree to climb (and get stuck up as I did oh so many times) and fun to be had. My Mum has filled her garden with lots of native Australian plants and it was bursting with colour on the weekend. Here are a few snaps from my families backyard…

Today was a beautiful sunny day and a reminder summer isn’t too far away at all. I jumped on my bike and hit the Main Yarra Trail which follows the Yarra River around the outskirts of the city. The environment changes frequently and it’s a beautiful ride, walk or jog.

This is going way back in my archives to when I was a spring chicken and new to travel. Vietnam was one of the first countries I ever visited. And Sapa, a small village in the north of the country is still my favourite place in the world. This remote little mountainous pocket is a beauty and well worth the trip to get there.

Open House Melbourne 2012 has just wrapped up for the weekend. There were 100 buildings open to the public around the city, I managed to get around to 6 of those… the queues were a killer! But worth it, as I loved every building I saw. Today I’m giving you a peek at The Block Arcade. This building is dripping in beauty, from the structure to the shops that inhabit it. The longest standing resident is the Hopetoun Tea Rooms, serving high tea daily. Looking at their cake selection explains why there is always a queue to get in. The building was constructed during 1892 -1893.
